What should we pay attention to when installing water pipes?

1. Preliminary material selection and differentiation
Separate hot and cold pipes
Hot water pipes have thicker walls and are marked in red; cold water pipes are blue/green and are strictly prohibited from mixing. Hot water pipes cannot be used as cold water pipes for a long time. Hot water is strictly prohibited from cold water pipes as they are prone to softening and cracking.
Pipe adaptation scenarios
Mainstream PPR for home decoration: the first choice for indoor pre-embedding, and outdoor exposure is prohibited;
Galvanized steel pipes: old buildings are obsolete and prone to rust;
Aluminum-plastic pipe: only suitable for surface installation, the joints are prone to leakage;
PVC-U: It is only used for sewage drainage, not drinking water.
Accessories of the same brand
The pipe, direct, elbow and inner wire bend are of the same brand, with better hot-melt adaptability and reducing the risk of water seepage.
2. Standardization of pipe layout direction
Go to the top but not the ground, go vertically but not horizontally
When laying water pipes on the ceiling, water leaks can be detected immediately without damaging the floor; there should be as few horizontal pipes on the ground as possible to avoid drilling holes in the pipes later.
Avoid main reinforcements of load-bearing walls and beams
The depth of transverse grooves shall not exceed 2cm, and the steel bars shall not be cut; it is strictly forbidden to make long horizontal grooves on beams, and only short vertical grooves shall be allowed.
Strong and weak current slots
The parallel distance between water pipes and electric wire pipes is ≥30cm. When crossing, the water pipes are at the bottom and the electric wires are at the top to prevent water leakage and electricity leakage.
Reserve space for maintenance
Inspection openings are reserved for valves, female elbows, and tees, and they are not all sealed.
Slope requirements (focus on sewer pipes)
The sewage pipe must have a drainage slope: the slope of conventional PVC pipes is 2% to 3%, with no reverse slope and no accumulated water, otherwise it will be easy to get clogged and produce odor.
